Die Antwoord Number 2

Okay, so the site went up last night so I can show these. I'm not gonna go into any rationale behind these as I prefer to just take pictures. All I want to say is that these guys are great to work with and I would like to do some more work with them soon. Some of these are gonning be published in WAD Magazine which I'm pretty stoked about. Hopefully it will be soon and if so will post them up here. Good luck to them for the States. Bye for now.

Die Antwoord

Last week, I was asked to shoot some new stuff for Die Antwoord. We shot the day after their new music video was being shot by Trevor Clarence. It was an amazing experience working with them. We shot in and around a few houses close to Brixton. The music video and their new look website launches tomorrow and they leave today for LA and New York to discuss the future. More about the shoot after the site launches tomorrow but in the meantime here is a pic of Ninja backstage after their show at The Alexander Theatre. Thanks to Die Antwoord, Terraplane, the people who let us in to their houses and Doug for helping me out.

Coming Soon

So, it's nearly that time where we've finally got ourselves a new site for Injozi. This is the image that I shot with all of us cast as Carnivale folk. Chris and Craig and everyone in fact has been hard at work in between other projects getting it ready. It looks amazing. Well done to everyone and thank you to Gabrielle de Gersigny and Johan de Lange for styling it so beutifully. Niqui da Silva for doing hair and make up and Jason Meintjes for helping me out for so many years, I really appreciate it, you have no idea. Thank you to my awesome team at Injozi; Chris, Nick, Craig, Leigh-Anne, Fabian and Jerome. I work with the best people ever. So, follow the link. It's not up yet but hopefully very soon.

Black Coffee At New York Fashion Week

Black Coffee were invited to show at New York Fashion Week last month which is amazing. I was asked to shoot their fall 2010 range, here are a couple from the shoot. Louwe Kotze produced the shoot and Saadique Ryklief did hair and Piers Braybrooke did make up.

Genna Cloud

These are a few from the Genna Cloud promo shoot that I did the other day. Genna is a very talented singer and daughter of Neil Cloud, former drummer of the amazing band Rabbit. Gabrielle de Gersigny styled it with the help of Jamal Nxedlana and Liz Van der Merwe did hair and make up Bye.

'Positively 4th Street'

This is what Bob Dylan once had to say;

You got a lotta nerve
To say you are my friend
When I was down
You just stood there grinning

You got a lotta nerve
To say you gota helping hand to lend
You just want to be on
The side that's winning

You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
And you know it

I know the reason
That you talk behind my back
I used to be among the crowd
You're in with

Do you take me for such a fool
To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide
What he don't know to begin with

You see me on the street
You always act surprised
You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"
But you don't mean it

When you know as well as me
You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once
And scream it

No, I do not feel that good
When I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief
Perhaps I'd rob them

And now I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place
Don't you understand
It's not my problem

I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you

Boss Models Exhibition

I was asked to contribute to an Exhibition for Boss Models hosted by Bell Roberts in Cape Town. All proceeds from the Auction went to Missing Children SA. I shot two actresses Catriona Andrews and Jana Strydom, they were great and had a lot of fun shooting this.

Stillife

Stylist Caroline Olavarrieta and myself were asked to come up with a concept for an Editorial for Design Indaba magazine for their Protofarm issue. This was a take on apartment spaces and the people in them in a state of solitude in 2050. I think the mag has just come out now.
